NSPCA 5K In Memory of Brooklynn Mohler | Boulder City Photographer | Las Vegas Photographer
On November 9th I had the honor of shooting the 3rd Annual MacDonald Highlands 5k benefiting the NSPCA for the family of Brooklyn Mae Mohler.
Friends and family were there to turn the race pink in her memory, and they succeeded by leaps and bounds. It was Brookynn's dream to "help all of those without a voice". Through her family's help, Brookylnn's dream helped raise $5,498 for the NSPCA!
"Brooklynn was a special girl. She was so many great things rolled into one, that it was almost unbelievable"
"For those of you who didn't get to meet Brooklynn, she was the kind of child you watched in awe. She was wise beyond her 13 years. She was funny, kind and confident. She could make you laugh so hard you would have tears coming out of your eyes, and then wonder how a 13 year old could be so funny. She is missed every single second of the day."
"Brooklynn had a passion for animals as well. She always wanted to be a teacher, but that just wasn't going to support her plan. For years she had this dream of a farm, where she would have a place for every unwanted animal in the world. I had to break the news to her, which although they deserve it, a teacher’s salary just isn't going to buy you thousands of acres, the food for the animals, and the full time staff she was going to need. So she said,” Then I’ll just have to get rich, I’ll become a millionaire first and then I’ll have my farm.” Every so often she would see some animal and talk about how she would have to make some more money to have a wing for them too. I don’t think she could have gotten to every animal in the world, but at some point she was going to make a difference for many of them."
Thank you again to everyone who came out in support of Brooklynn's dream, it was an amazing day.
