I love pushing my comfort zone when it comes to my skills.  This weekend I pushed, and pushed.  My great friend Aimee (Spetember Sky Photography) and I spent the weekend working with flash.  Sunday we worked the off camera flash like rock stars (if i do say so myself).  It was a weekend filled with great fun.  ~xoxo~

Just a little sneak peek at a super successful shoot today.  Lovely girls... 

Inspired by the season, I decided to practice in the studio.... Here I give to you (insert drum roll here.............) Christmas Light Bokeh!!! Well, this is the one picture that has come out of TWO days of shooting.  I lie, actually Hello Kitty was a stand in for some shots, but human models are much cuter.  Someone remind me why I thought it was a good idea to work with a two year old in tow?  Luckilly for me, Christmas break is starting....  I will be torturing my middle (and likely eldest) daughters during that time.  My sweet baby can take a break.  I may even torture the neighborhood children as I see fit.  We will see. xoxo    

 I'm on a mission....  For the perfect picture of my girls.  I am planning on having a 20x24 canvas printed for our living room... These poor children of mine have no clue that they may be spending the next month straight in front of a camera....  Oh how I love them.... xoxo

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this gorgeous couple's wedding reception this weekend. It was a wonderful evening filled with love..... I am so honored to be a part of this special day.

Believe me when I say that I enjoy all of my digital photos.  But I fall in love with the prints I get.  There is something about the actual paper in my hands.   There is something about the look on people's faces when they receive the prints.   Oh boy am I excited for Christmas....   

Because I am fairly sure the people who will be receiving these photos (as Christmas gifts) don't have a clue this blog even exists...and because I just had to share.  Enjoy! xoxo

What an honor it is to be trusted to take a family's photos?  Anybody can push a shutter button and take a picture.  So to me, for someone to like (or maybe, just maybe, LOVE?) my work enough to have me photograph them makes my heart sing.    Thank you H family!  It was an honor, and I love you all... xoxo

I think I am in love....with my gorgeous model and Savage Tulip.  However, I think I will cheat  today with Savage Baby Blue...I'll keep the model.  No too bad for an unwilling model and an impromptu shoot.  Have a Happy Thursday! xoxo

Yesterday's shooting was actually dual puropse.  I wanted Bella to try on a costume, and I wanted to try out one of my new seamless paper backgrounds.  Savage Thunder Grey, you make my heart go pitter patter.... Bella does too, of course.  I want you all to notice the cutesy little smile on her face....  Doesn't it make your heart melt!?!?!  Now I want you to see the sucker in her hand.... See it? That is how I roll...  I bribe my children into smiling for the camera.  Anyhow, enjoy!!!  xoxo

So, I have been MIA lately, please forgive me.  Blogger was having issues with loading photos (what is a photography blog with no photos??  NOTHING I tell you!)....  Plus, we remodeled our kitchen....I don't think I am cut out for this line of work. I love love love Halloween more that anyone, well.....ever.  What does that mean?  My house is decorated, my tummy is full of candy corns, and my children are already being forced to wear costumes.  I can't say for sure, but this may be considered child abuse by some. 

This lovely gem was waiting for me when I got home from scouting a few shoot locations yesterday.  It was hidden along with some eye roll shots....which is generally the norm for us!  Enjoy, I know I will.

Here I provide you with proof that my dear children love me!!!  It certainly is undeniable proof if you ask me.  Maybe..... Anyhow, enjoy!

1-I am doing what I love, and have loved for a long long long time..... 2-I have fun, and lots of it! 3-I get to become a permanent part of each family I shoot. Thank you M Family for the opportunity to shoot your beautiful girls!  

There is nothing more precious than family. For better or worse, they are always there. Lucky for me, I am blessed with an amazing family with absolutely gorgeous kids! Don't you wish you were me?  Admit it, I know you do....

I really wanted to photograph antiques this week..  Different angles and perspectives.  Unfortunately, I don't have any. Not a one.  Ok maybe one...  Lucky for you I DO have cars...or at least a lot of things with motors in them.  Not all of them run, but they do make some good models.  So instead, I share with you cars, or in the case of the first photo a dune buggy. My youngest has a photo shoot today... There's star potential in this one. I can't choose a favorite.   Good thing I know the photographer, and she can cut me a great deal.  ( I hope )

My lovely doves have been saved from the rain gods.....  Well, not the doves.  I'm sure they love the rain when it comes.  But the photo I share here has been saved.  I removed the rain streaks.  Life may now resume...I am rejoycing...all is right with the world...  This, is a good thing.  Enjoy! xoxo

Yes, it's that time of year again...  I am a little sad, and a little excited.  My babies are growing up more and more every day.... One day this child will conquer the world.  No doubt about it. ...for now we'll work on conquering homework... just sayin~

It's hard being me....or her.  I'm not sure which.  I'll win in the end though. I always do...

We had rain today!  It truly is a monumental event here in the desert.  However, the picture I was trying to take of some gorgeous doves now has white rain streaks through it...  Needless to say, while I am thankful for the moisture I am frustrated with my pictures.  I guess a masterpiece a day is asking for too much...... Or is it? Ah, thankfully tomorrow is another day..... Oh, and a Friday....YAY! 

Having three beautiful children would lead you to believe that I also have three willing models......It's not true, don't let their smiles fool you.  The last picture I tried to take of my middle child ended looking like a mugshot.  The last picture I took of my youngest was of her back...  And my oldest gave me a silly face with her tounge sticking out.   Maybe I should bribe them?   Mmmm, maybe not...   It's not always easy being me.... <3 

They say if you put your ear to a shell you can hear the ocean.... I've tried... It's not working.  I think a road trip to the beach is the next best option....Don't you?

My dear Niece asked me to do her senior pics (oh my goodness how old does that make me???), and this very well may be my favorite.  Of course there are hundreds more that are equally as beautiful!  It's hard to take a bad picture of such a beautiful girl....

I had the rare opportunity to have thousands of these little hungry guys visit me for a couple of days last week when one of our plants suddenly bloomed.  They're tough to get a good shot of, but that made it even more satasfying.  <3

One good thing to come from all of this monsoon humidity here in the desert are the gorgeous cloud formations that we get.
