A little boy needs some cheering up, and here is how you can help! Michael Manteris was recently diagnosed with a very rare case of Pediatric AML Leukemia with Secondary MDS. Michael will be undergoing at least 3 to 6 rounds of chemotherapy lasting 4 to 6 weeks each, prior to receiving a bone marrow transplant at CHLA that will be at least another 100 day straight hospitalization. In all, if everything goes as planned, it'll require him to be hospitalized almost the entire time for, at least, the next 9 to 12 months. Since Michael is away from the comfort and security of his own home this holiday season we would LOVE if every one of you, and all of your friends could send him a card or letter to help lift his spirits.   He loves the Pittsburgh Steelers and playing with action figures. When the co-founder Cheryl Haggard lost her son in February of 2005, she knew that her family’s healing was going to come by remembering the details about Maddux, not by forgetting that he existed.   Her husband contacted a local photographer and eventual co-founder Sandy Puc’ and requested her services in helping to memorialize young Maddux.   Over time, memories fade, but these cherished photographs will last for generations and help show the love that was shared between this young boy and his family, no matter how brief his stay on Earth was. From these beginnings, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep was born.   Today, the organization encompasses nearly 2,000 photographers worldwide who volunteer their services by creating sensitive images that will last a lifetime.   We believe the images of these precious children serve as an important step in the healing process and that this opportunity should be available to all in need regardless of socio-economic status.   To this end, o

We are excited for this year's Art in the Park, and can't wait to see everyone there! Art in the Park is one of the largest outdoor juried art festivals in the Southwest and is the largest fundraiser for the Boulder City Hospital Foundation. The event is held over two days in beautiful Boulder City, Nevada, not far from Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and the bright lights of Las Vegas. The event is free to the public, and although Boulder City’s population is just over 15,500, the event draws over 100,000 visitors. 1st through 3rd place ribbons are awarded in Fine Art, Fine Craft and Traditional Craft categories, as well as an overall “Best in Show” winner.
