28 Sunflowers Photography

This is one statement is the ire of many photographers that I know.  At times, myself included.  My cameras are capable of taking both fabulous, and extremely crappy shots.  What is the variable (excluding gear malfunction)?  Me!  The person behind the lens and editing.   Here is one quick example from a recent shoot I did: Before:  After: The after is actually a compilation of three different photos brought together to create a finished product.  It was not simply my camera.  It was me, and a vision I had for this shot that I almost deleted.  This is my art, which I hope you love, that I create with the tools that I have.  Oh, and a couple of cameras that take really great photos~!  Have a fabulous weekend! xoxo

I have really started to LOVE in studio shoots lately. I have the most wonderful and amazing little studio.  It is an older building with oh so much charm (and a shower-yes I really have a shower-so strange!).  Not only do I have a fabulous indoor studio area, but I also have a great rear yard with some spectacular light throughout most of the day.  I have been enjoying this summer shooting indoors, in my studio (that has a shower AND air conditioning which is so nice when it is about eleventy billion degrees outside).   What was this blog post supposed to be about?   A shower? I kid, I really just wanted to share a little share from a studio shoot earlier this week.  Lately I have been going for very dramatic portraits in studio, and I am enjoying every minute of it.   This is lovely Kaitlyn.  I have known her since she was just a little one, and she is growing (way too fast) into a beautiful young woman.  Her passion is dance, so we did an entire session based on that.

I get asked all of the time where I came up with the name of my business.  Well, it came to me in a dream, and the rest is history! I kid.... Really there is a deeply personal reason behind it, and I loved it so much more than Pamela Leon Photography.  Or, Photos by Pam.  Or, Pam Rocks Photography.....  You get my drift.  Maybe I just don't like my name?  Ah...childhood issues?  Maybe? Oh, back to 28 Sunflowers Photography...  Where did the name come from?  My birthday is the 28th, and it happens to be my favorite number in the entire world.  Really.  It was my volleyball number in high school.  It has been SO many things.  I get excited when I see 28 on the clock.  It is currently on my license plate (yes I sheepishly asked the DMV lady to search for one with 28 on it).  I even got my high school boyfriend to ask the poor DMV lady to find one with 28 for his plate all those years ago (I think I have a problem....).  It just is such a lovely number....  oh beautiful 28..
